Dr. Guess majored in biology and minored in chemistry at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, and earned his medical degree from the University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He completed an internship at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle before moving on to the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center’s Dean McGee Eye Institute, where he completed a residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in vitreoretinal disease and surgery.
Dr. Guess is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Montana Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Montana Medical Association. In his practice, he specializes in vitreoretinal surgery, cataract surgery, and the treatment of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
Outside of his work at Rocky Mountain Eye Center, Dr. Guess is passionate about giving back to the world. In May 2008, he traveled to Chengdu, China, to provide help in earthquake relief efforts and teach ophthalmology residents.
